Last time we went to Prague, in September, secretly looking at places to buy, we lived in this top apartment with a view in every direction. In this town you can live “on top of the city” for several nights in an apartment for the same price as you live in a 8 m2 dirty room in London for one or two nights. Sorry Londoners. And hurray for Prague, we’ve never been let down! This trip ended up with buying this, and I still long to get the keys. 4-6 weeks to go!
There must be someone here sneaking out of the roof window, hanging up framed photos on the pipe, bringing out the porcelain and treasure chest. I mean – a t r e a s u r e c h e s t ! ! On one of the best spots in Prague! I would love to see the person doing this, it must be like meditation. It’s might not “the right thing to do”, even dangerous, but… I can’t help loving it – this act of kindness towards him- or herself. A place of peace and calm, most likely. At least in my mind this is a place like this.
I share my dreams and adventures with this lovely person, my husband. I’m in love! Our life’s some kind of a treasure hunt! We dreamed of a place close to Prague together, we made it happen together, and we’re now setting realistic goals about where to take our dream. We’ve saved a house by embracing it with our hearts and the little amount of money we could spend (the property costed what an average used car costs in Norway), and now we’re like: where to find the right people to help us with water, sewage and electricity? What kind of collaborations can we make to get more of what we need since we don’t have the money? Who can have interest of what we do? Is it possible to make this a place to do what we love and even make some money out of it? Can restoring this place be our main job? How? If you have any answers, please let me know, ha ha 😉
The peacock is a symbol of true love to me, my wedding ring is a peacock, and I love visiting this place over and over again. Can’t believe our second home will be just an hour away from this!
When people will visit us, for vacation, retreat or workshop, I want them to feel the way I do when I sit at a quiet cafe for hours. Just lost in what’s right in front of me. Good people, good coffee, nice treats. You’re softer and have filled yourself spiritually in one way or another too. Feeling inspired and at ease.
And more of this place… The botanical garden… Some future workshops/retreats should have a day or two in Prague, visiting my favourite places. To photograph, to eat, to walk, to feel at ease. Again. That might have to be some kind of a slogan for our Villa Betula Dream. I promise I’ll never take you on a segway! Ha ha 😉 Actually I think Segway’s survived in Prague just for a season or so, I don’t think it’s allowed anymore, phew!
More chocolate, porcelain dogs and dirt on the floor in abandoned houses, yes please! Are you with me?
