Everything has changed – main interests, how I think, how I feel. Many “old” photos in this post, but only from “the dark side” time. If you want to see the “before” photos, have a look at it when we were featured on Apartment Therapy. I don’t get it! Now they don’t even answer me when I contact them, ha ha.
The rest of the house has changed, we got another music room and a proper recording studio that we didn’t have before. And this black room has been the “missing room” lately. We’ve hardly used it the last months. It does not contain any of our biggest interests anymore. And we don’t have the interest of a regular living room, there has to be something more to it.
A living room have to feed my soul, and now that we have a studio for all things musical (which we used to have this room for), it was about time to think new. No, I have not thought, I just felt I needed to change room for my atelier. The cutest smallest atelier, with the most amazing colour and mood to it, have to be the place we use for film editing and film planning, the periods one or both of us are up to that.
Gosh, a “best script” prize. You have to quit while you’re on top!! We look super happy for our prize though…
The tiny atelier, approx 6 m2 or something, gave me the chance to try out painting for real. And what I realized is that I have to be able to work on several big canvases at once. I have to walk back and look, I need to take photos of them without carry them out in the snow!
I need to make what I want to make the very second I want to. So yesterday I started to turn our “living room”, which is about 30 m2 into my more serious atelier. I want to do this. And more people are starting to contact me with an interest for buying an original painting. It makes me feel so soft and happy.
This very unique desk is for sale because of my new plans. Contact me on mail or comment below!
There will be a little lounging area in the middle of the room (velvet from Anna Hayman included!), which also makes it possible to use it as a guest room in case we need that (hint hint to some adorable people I’ve learned to know, you know who you are). AND you can come and watch my work if you’re considering to buy. I have time to pour you a coffee and chat as well. Oh, maybe we should start to rent out “One nights sleep in the atelier of Maren Ingeborg Gråblomst at Villa Betula” ?! I would probably earn my first million 😉
The ‘after’ interior is definitely more beautiful (and interesting) then the ‘before’, although I like white and bright rooms/interior.
Thank you! I have to say I agree 😉
