If you saw my stories on Instagram during Christmas, you could see I made my husband cut the big squared table we had in this black room. My new atelier. The table was about 150 x 150 cm big. He made it for me, like I was a queen ordering exactly what I needed. And I (we actually) needed it to be like that back then. But suddenly it was just collecting dust, and the room was almost never used. So I said: “it must be cut in two, trust me, that’s what we need”. And he did… Without getting angry at all. I would have got a little offended, ha ha 😉 But he trusted my idea, and I’ve used it every day since it became twice as long and half as wide! Reuse, reuse, reuse! Make your house change with you to enjoy every single part of it. My new atelier has not cost me any money at all.
Actually I hope to make some money on it, as this old velvet tassel chair is for sale. I got two actually, and this is the most worn one. I think the king sat in it (the grandfather of today’s king in Norway). True story. I ship to every part of the world! Cheap chair, expensive shipping though. So if you can come and pick it up you’re a lucky one!
Almost a little embarrassing to have a directors chair with my name on it, but mostly it’s sweet, haha. Got it several years ago from my husband. Love the colour, and it’s very comfortable. Perfect hight for this table too. And I have actually been directing some things too… without bringing my chair though.
A print of ‘Mama Cried An Ocean’ and Gråblomst’s second vinyl album was shipped to Canada today. And more prints of my moon ‘Lunar Force’ to Sweden. I always wrap orders with love and write a personal card to everybody, ’cause it means so much to me.
Cleaned up the shelves. All the colours in there and magazines I never read drove me crazy, so earlier today I gave 90% of my magazines away to the charity shop. Also books and clothes. Feels good, both to give and to get rid of things I don’t need anymore, and I do it several times a year.
I carried the biggest porcelain dog, which I found in an antique shop in Prague, all over the city in a plastic bag… We had a little photoshoot with it out in the street, and I used one of the photos just some days ago.
And I made a lounge in the middle of the room. Every atelier or gallery needs one, right? I need rest, and I need to sit back and observe my work, wondering what to do next. The exclusive velvet from Anna Hayman on the top was totally out of my budget (which is about zero), but she had one cheap because it was slightly more blue than it was suppose to. I thought it was perfect and said “I’ll take it!”. Remember I got some samples of her beautiful textiles? The top mattress is a memory foam, actually a proper bed, so my atelier will serve as a guest room too. Hope it can be an inspiring place to sleep, maybe I’ll have to try it out myself 😉
Did I mention this chair is for sale?…
I think this is the tidiest my desk will ever look.
Love some flowery pants and mirrors everywhere.
This is sold. I know, I know, said it before. But it’s a wow to me! My husband will make me three new canvases this week, and the first one was done before lunch today. I have no idea what I will paint…It’s 130 x 230 cm, that’s all I know. And I can’t wait to get this floor messed up with paint, I think it’s beautiful.
Who’s watching my back while working!
Yeah, I’m not on top. Christmas and New Year didn’t treat me well. Too much to deal with. But life goes on, and I need to cut my hair tonight.
